Chinese green tea
Chinese green tea, consumed for more than three millennia, is one of the most widely drunk teas in the world. Whatever its place of production, green tea is a tea whose natural oxidation is halted as quickly as possible after picking. It is therefore said to contain the most antioxidants (catechins, also known as polyphenols). These powerful compounds may help strengthen the immune system, fight ageing and even have a “fat-burning” effect on the body.
Maté
At Kusmi, maté features in many flagship blends and is a key ingredient in our Detox recipes, notably for its benefits. Rich in minerals and vitamins, maté may help strengthen our immune defences and stimulate the body’s metabolism. Indeed, Guarani Native Americans were already consuming this plant several centuries ago, chewing it or steeping it in cold water. Today, yerba maté is drunk by infusing the plant in hot water and sipping it through a metal tube (called a bombilla), which acts as both a filter and a straw.
